As a former teacher with 17+ years of classroom experience, I still enjoy putting my teaching and training skills to use, helping adults with technology.
Teachers appreciate that I understand their issues, and appreciate the real-life complications of lesson planning and delivery. I can walk the walk, and I know the anxiety that teachers feel when trying new tech. That’s why I the most important part of my training and PD is making teachers feel comfortable, understood and empowered.
Throughout my career, I have offered training on a variety of levels:
- One-on-one training
- Small groups, departments, and grade-level teams
- Full faculty meeting trainings | Sample: Intro to Google Classroom
- Conference workshops and sessions | Sample: MassCUE 2014: Digital Portfolios with Google Sites
- Google Certified Trainer since 2014
I have also served as an important co-organizer of the annual Holliston Tech PD Day, which includes recruitment and planning of sessions, event planning and preparation, and organization of digital and paper materials.
- PD Day website design, including sections for presenters to interact with participants
- Specialized registration system that allows project leaders to track session enrollment in real-time
- Individualized schedules for participants
