Learning in the 21st Century will include a clearer, stronger focus on student experiences over raw knowledge consumption. Schools will be places where students create, collaborate, make, write, and grow. Gone are the days when “remembering” was the end-goal of learning; schools instead will highlight global communication, authentic problem solving, and student voice and ownership of their learning.
Technology will help make all of this possible. We don’t implement technology to improve standardized test scores; we do it so that students can have access to the wide world of culture, knowledge, creativity, and discussion, and so that they can contribute to it. Like never before in history, technology can help all students be participants in our local, national, and global society.
